ICERMediation Terms and Conditions

Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) carefully before using the ICERMediation website, e-learning academy, multi-vendor marketplace, event registration portal, membership, and donations services (collectively referred to as the “Platform”) operated by the International Center for Ethno-Religious Mediation (“ICERMediation,” “us,” “we,” or “our”). Your access to and use of the Platform is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, then you may not access the Platform.

  1. User Eligibility

1.1 By accessing the Platform, you affirm that you are at least 18 years old or have the legal age to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction. If you are accessing the Platform on behalf of an organization, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

  1. Account Registration

2.1 To access certain features of the Platform, you may be required to register for an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process. You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for any activities that occur under your account.

  1. Content on the Platform

3.1 The Platform may include user-generated content, courses, videos, photos, and other materials (“Content”). You retain ownership of your Content, but by submitting it to the Platform, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, copy, reproduce, process, adapt, modify, publish, transmit, display, and distribute your Content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Platform.

  1. User Conduct

4.1 You agree to use the Platform in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and in a manner that does not infringe on the rights of any third party.

4.2 You are solely responsible for the content you post, share, or otherwise make available on the Platform, and you agree not to upload, post, or otherwise distribute content that violates any applicable laws or infringes on any third-party rights.

  1. E-Learning Academy

5.1 The E-Learning Academy on the Platform allows users to sell and enroll in courses within the following and related fields of study: languages, cultures, cuisines, histories, religions, spiritual practices, culinary arts, performing arts, visual arts, music, race and ethnic studies, indigenous studies, conflict studies, war studies, terrorism studies, genocide studies, colonialism and post-colonial studies, slavery, research methodologies, alternative dispute resolution (ADR), conflict resolution, conflict transformation, peace studies, peacebuilding, peacekeeping, criminal justice, restorative justice, transitional justice, social justice, social movements, community organizing, civic education, separatist movements, politics, diplomacy, international (or foreign) relations, international development, public policy, public speaking, logic, controversial public issues, humanitarian studies, human rights, civil rights, minority rights, gender and sexuality studies, environmental studies, literature, archaeology, philosophy, area or regional studies, earth sciences, physics, systems science, organizational studies, liberal arts, humanities, education, journalism, communication, social media, marketing, public relations, anthropology, natural resources, oceanography, climate change, migration studies, immigration, diversity, equity, and inclusion, economy, business, investment, money, statistics, architecture and design, divinity, urban planning, forestry, consumer science, physical education, recreation or sports, media studies, library, museum, military sciences, public administration, social work, transportation, economics, accounting, finance, tax, entrepreneurship, law, government, leadership, geography, agriculture, space exploration and astronomy, chemistry, science, technology, computer and information sciences, internet, pharmacy, medicine, nursing, biological and biomedical sciences, photography, engineering, mathematics, aeronautics and aviation, family, marriage, therapy, psychology, social sciences, relationships, health, fitness, beauty, current events, tourism and travel, national security, law enforcement, firefighting, global peace and security, United Nations, etc. Course instructors are responsible for the content and quality of their courses.

5.2 ICERMediation reserves the right to remove or suspend courses that violate these Terms or our content policies.

  1. Multi-Vendor Marketplace

6.1 The Marketplace on the Platform allows users to buy and sell physical and digital products as well as services and used items. Sellers are responsible for accurately describing their products and services, and buyers are responsible for reading and understanding listed product and service descriptions before making a purchase.

6.2 ICERMediation is not a party to any transaction between buyers and sellers (“Users”) in the Marketplace and is not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, or delivery of products and services.

  1. Payment and Refund Policy

7.1 The Platform may offer paid courses, products, and services, or other premium features. You agree to pay all fees and applicable taxes associated with your use of the Platform. All fees are non-refundable unless otherwise stated in our refund policy.

  1. Event Registrations

8.1 By registering for an event through ICERMediation’s platform, you agree to provide accurate and complete information about yourself.

8.2 ICERMediation reserves the right to cancel or reschedule events, and in such cases, registrants will be notified at the earliest opportunity. In the event of cancellation, registrants may be eligible for a refund as determined by ICERMediation.

8.3 All registration cancellations by participants must be received in writing. Cancellation notices should be directed to the ICERMediation Office by email: conference(at)icermediation.org at least three (3) weeks in advance of the event date. Please note that conference registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

  1. Membership

9.1 Membership with ICERMediation is open to individuals and organizations interested in promoting global peace and security and related activities. By becoming a member, you affirm that you are at least 18 years old or have the legal authority to represent an organization in your jurisdiction.

9.2 ICERMediation offers different membership types, each with its own set of benefits. The details of each membership type and associated benefits will be provided on the ICERMediation website or through direct communication. ICERMediation reserves the right to modify membership types and benefits at its sole discretion. Members will be notified of any changes in advance.

9.3 Membership fees, if applicable, are outlined on the ICERMediation website or provided through direct communication. Members are responsible for paying their membership fees promptly. Membership fees are non-refundable. In the event of a fee change, existing members will be notified in advance and given the option to renew or cancel their membership.

9.4 ICERMediation reserves the right to terminate or suspend a membership at its sole discretion, without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to a breach of these Terms. Members have the right to terminate their membership at any time by providing written notice to ICERMediation. No refunds will be provided for prepaid membership fees.

  1. Donations

10.1 Donations made through ICERMediation’s platform are voluntary contributions to support our mission and activities.

10.2 All donations are non-refundable. ICERMediation is not obligated to refund or exchange any donation.

  1. Tax Deductibility

11.1 ICERMediation is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization / public charity in the United States. Donations may be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. It is the donor’s responsibility to determine the tax-deductibility of their contribution.

  1. Use of Information

12.1 Personal information provided during account creation, event registration, membership, subscription, and donation will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12.2 By providing your information to ICERMediation, you agree to receive communications from ICERMediation related to your account, events, future events, membership, and organizational updates. You can opt out of these communications at any time.

  1. Intellectual Property Rights

13.1 The Platform and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by ICERMediation and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property or proprietary rights laws.

  1. Termination

14.1 We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account and access to the Platform at our sole discretion, without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to a breach of these Terms.

  1. Changes to Terms

15.1 We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days’ notice prior to any new terms taking effect.

  1. Governing Law

16.1 These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

By accessing or using the ICERMediation website, e-learning academy, multi-vendor marketplace, event registrations, membership, and donations services, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
